Welcome to the TEAM TRANSIT
Action Center!
While you do have choices in how you get around - you can walk, bike, carpool, bus, or even train
in some places; you know there are still problems with transit service. Many people who could ride
don't ride because the buses don't come often enough, or it takes too long, or there are too many
transfers. We're grateful for the transit service we have, but there's still a need for more service that
is fast and reliable.
It's Time for Action!
To work effectively for
improved transit service and a whole host of improved transportation options,
your involvement is critical. We just can't count on our State Legislators, County
Councilmembers, Transportation Commissioners and others who make decisions about transportation
to do the right thing, if they aren't hearing from members of their community! Here are some different
ways you can get involved to help make better transportation choices in
Washington a reality...
Become a member of Transportation Choices Coalition today. Members are crucial to
our work - they help expand and strengthen our grassroots reach and power to affect change.
Attend a Transportation 101. This is a fun educational opportunity we're offering
to businesses, community groups, church groups, etc. It's a back-to-basics look at transportation and
it how it all works in Washington. We answer such burning questions as...
- What transportation projects will I be voting on in 2007 and
2008?
- Is Metro going to put more buses on the streets anytime soon? What about that light rail to the
airport?
- Why is Tim Eyman running another anti-transit initiative, and what would it do?
- How can I get involved in the process?
We post upcoming sessions right here on this page,
but you can also schedule a Transportation 101 for your group or
workplace. No group is too large or small! To schedule a Transportation
101 or ask questions, contact our Field Director our Field Director
Shefali Ranganathan at 206-329-2336 or via email.
Come to a Friday Forum. Transportation Choices offers free discussion and Q&A sessions on a

and issue experts from the field, they're a great way to learn about current transportation issues
and Transportation Choices Coalition. Find out about the next forum.
